PIN takes on the Sandstone Trail to raise money for Better Planet Education
On July 26, 2025, the PIN team will lace up our boots for a very different kind of operation: a 34-mile walk along the Sandstone Trail from Frodsham to Whitchurch. We’ve set ourselves an ambitious target to complete this within 12 hours and we’re asking for your support to raise funds for Better Planet Education.
Why Better Planet Education?
Better Planet Education provides free, fact-based environmental resources to young people, teachers, parents and the wider public. Through lesson plans, assemblies, videos, fact sheets and articles, they:
- Help schools integrate climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and ocean health into the curriculum
- Empower students to understand and combat environmental challenges—from rainforest destruction to desertification
- Offer “Better Planet Schools,” a free online platform for primary schools, plus no-cost talks for classrooms across the UK
They help equip the next generation with the knowledge and the inspiration they need to make a real difference.
This cause is close to our hearts because the future of our planet depends on today’s young people. Previous generations haven’t always done enough to protect the environment, and it’s up to us to give tomorrow’s leaders the tools to right those wrongs. By supporting Better Planet Education, we’re ensuring the next generation understands what needs to be done and is empowered to act.
At PIN, sustainability isn’t just something we talk about – it’s built into our platform. By extending skip lifecycles, maximising utilisation and cutting unnecessary miles on the road, we help reduce emissions and waste. Partnering with Better Planet Education aligns perfectly with our mission to create smarter operations that respect our planet today and for years to come.
Why the Sandstone Trail?
The Sandstone Trail stretches 34 miles across some of the most varied landscapes in Cheshire and Shropshire: from the gentle River Weaver at Frodsham, through the rolling Peckforton Hills, to the historic market town of Whitchurch. We chose this route for its mix of steep climbs, open moorland and shaded valleys – a true test of endurance that will push our team both physically and mentally. We wanted to push ourselves further by completing it all in one day, turning our charity walk into a real personal challenge for a great cause.
How You Can Make an Impact
