Interview Testimonial:
“At Countrystyle, we operate 31 roll-on roll-off vehicles across Kent and surrounding areas, managing up to 130 daily movements. We handle a highly diverse range of contracts from HWRCs and power stations to general builders and engineering companies. This level of operational complexity makes visibility and efficiency critical.
Historically, like many in the industry, we had challenges around tracking containers accurately and giving live availability to service new customers. Our manual system carried the risk of inaccuracy and inefficiency, which made it harder to respond as quickly as we wanted. That meant opportunities could be missed, and the process simply wasn’t as smooth as it needed to be.
PIN has changed that. The live data has completely transformed the way we manage our fleet and container stock. For the first time, we can see in real-time what’s available, what’s moving, and importantly what isn’t. That’s powerful, not just for planning and optimisation, but also for sales. Our team now has access to accurate container availability, which means they can respond to sales enquiries instantly, using real data to drive revenue.
We initially trialled PIN on a single contract and saw immediate value. That gave us the confidence to roll it out across our entire fleet. And since then, we’ve discovered value in places we hadn’t initially expected like route efficiency, container utilisation acrossmulti-division customer sites, and identifying ‘hidden’ inefficiencies where containers are on-site but unused.
The implementation has been incredibly smooth, great communication, great support. The team here has found it exciting to see what the system can do and where we can take it. We’re only scratching the surface right now, but I can already say this: if you’re running a RoRo operation, I’d recommend PIN without hesitation. It sells itself through the data it gives you. It’s a game-changer.”
Interview: Countrystyle Recycling & PIN
Featuring: Paul Byrne, CEO of PIN, and Craig Bragger, Head of Digital Transformation, Countrystyle Recycling
Paul: What’s your experience of the product been so far?
Craig: I look at it more from a technical perspective than an operational one, and I have to say, it’s been fantastic. Coming from outside the waste industry, I’ve found it fascinating to see how PIN uses technology to generate revenue and improve the bottom line. The visibility into our slow-moving assets alone has been an eye-opener – we can now make decisions that mean we don’t need to invest in new assets unnecessarily.
From a technical point of view, I’ve nothing but good things to say. Every question I’ve asked and every challenge I’ve raised has been met with quick, knowledgeable responses. The team at PIN really understand the importance of data security, integration, and collaboration. Their willingness to work closely with us and make integration as seamless as possible has been excellent.
Paul: How have you found working with the PIN team?
Craig: Honestly, it’s been a great experience. You often see companies come in, deliver a big sales pitch, and then disappear. With PIN, it’s been the complete opposite. After the initial engagement, they’ve become even more present and proactive. Every technical question I’ve raised has been answered quickly and in detail, often with more insight than I asked for. It’s clear that the team genuinely wants to support us and make sure we’re getting the most from the system.
Paul: And looking ahead, what potential do you see for PIN and Countrystyle Recycling partnership?
Craig: There’s huge potential in how we can use data together. PIN’s system captures valuable operational data, and we have our own internal data, combining those insights is where the real opportunity lies. The ability to integrate systems and share information freely means we can make the PIN service even stronger for us, and in turn, deliver a better service to our customers.
The openness from PIN around data integrations and providing information where and when we need it is key. That’s what will continue to make this partnership so powerful – improving the customer experience and driving continuous improvement through data.
